Actually guys, the letter "J" didn't exists until much later. "i" was used for the sound of "J" before "J" was introduced. I have a ton of old books from the early 1500s and earlier in older French that show this clearly.

What's up with that Christmas day flood sketch dating? Not to be too off topic but, 1717 then J7j8? I don't get why someone would switch formats like that. That is weird, good eye!

I'm sure there is a lot buried under the sea. You may very well be right about the dragon, though would it be accompanied by sound? Thanks for your insight!

The Incredible Deluge and Thunderstorm of Constantinople - Video and Translation from 1573 French Book

Mexico has so many strange sightings man, I totally believe you. I live in VT in the middle of nowhere so I can see the sky really well. I see things flying around and disappearing all the time. The "fireballs" are the "bundle of sticks" (not trying to mean but the term is actually "faggots"of...

Very well presented in terms of the etymology. We do our best to translate exactly what is written, but the reality of translation is that some times writing it as it's written makes no sense. To add to that point, when you're translating older writing, there are grammatical differences...

This french book from 1530 on Gallica.fr recounts stories from the devastating St. Felix flood with an additional separate section wondering why the world is going through so many fantastic events at the same time. This flood happened only one month after the flood of Rome, and killed between...

The Incredible Deluge and Thunderstorm of Constantinople - Video and Translation from 1573 French Book

I have the same book actually, and showed the top picture and a few more when talking reading the document in my video. There a few videos out right now, the best one is from China, a lightning bolt turns into a fireball. So who knows! Thanks! I also agree that seems directed, because it...

1530 The Great Flood of ROME

Thanks for all the info on the St Magdalene's flood, I wasn't aware of that at all. I was looking for some disasters like this in Germany for the 1500s, but as you say, we can only really guess when the date truly was. That being said, In my video about the translated texts from the pastebin...

1530 The Great Flood of ROME

Thank you for providing so much great information regarding similar mud flooding! In my part 2, some of the video footage shows a town that was completely submerged, Ostia, and it was very well preserved once it was excavated. There are some great videos of people touring the site on YT of...

The Incredible Deluge and Thunderstorm of Constantinople - Video and Translation from 1573 French Book

This is a fascinating account of a storm and flood that seemed to do serious damage to Constantinople, not to mention the death toll. I found a French letter/book that gives an account of what happened. I thought this community would find this account interesting as it has some interesting...
