Church 'not afraid of history': Pope Francis to open secret Pius...

It is only and specifically regarding opening the archives for a certain timeframe regarding National Socialism and the persecution of Jews.

Nevertheless, interesting move.

Even though The Vatican obviously is still afraid of history, otherwise it would open up the entire archives.

My biggest questions are;

-What does the average catholic believe is the reason these archives must be kept "secret"?

-If there actually still exist profound and reality shifting materials within, why would they keep them there at all? As a symbol of domination? Is it part of their creed of needing to tell people what they are doing to them and have it be accepted as normal?

-Lastly, will there ever come a time when the majority of people decide they don't believe the church has a right to keep these documents away from the public and what happens then?

I guess the same thing applies to the JFK files (just swap out catholic with american and church with government)

I've heard conflicting things about what might be buried down there but as I understand it you need to be "qualified" in your field of study and then request a specific document by title in order to view it. Even then, you can be denied for any or no reason at all.

If a book rests in the vatican and no one is around who remembers it, does it really exist?

It takes them a while, to go through all the books and documents, sorting out and leaving only those who fit the current narrative of our worlds history. Once that is done, they open that part of the archive to the public.

I remember reading this quite some time ago and thinking, who, qualified or not, is going to remember the title of a book that is secret, surly if it is secret then it first needs to be revealed before anyone knows it's name, smoke and mirrors or what!

Which archive?
As far as I know, there are two archives.
The big one is many, many floors below the "public" one.
Supposedly there are transparent exhibit cubicles in which all manner of exotic, extraterrestrial, and hidden history finds
are exhibited. It's a rumor I fully believe.
No one believed they had a secret bank for hundreds of years since the beginning in Constantine times, but they came
out with the truth. Its a corporation after all.

Don't forget the church and the Vatican have a history of hiding high members of Nazis, moving them around nations and giving them false identities just like they do with the pedophiles and any other member of church who has done a crime. The church and Vatican won't suffer because the masses have long been indoctrinated into believing they must suffer for others sins.
