I recently was thinking about a lot of physical things and then something re poped into my head. A thought I once had when I was like 15 waiting to ride a coaster which will accelerate you to 100 km/h in like 1.4 seconds or something. I was thinking about something I learned where they claimed, acceleration an gravity are equal to each other. I tried to develop a theoretical construct on how we could use artificial gravity, to counter the effects of acceleration. I don't know what is max G for a human, but you won'T feel good, when you have like 6 Gs on you for hours. Which would be needed if we'd ever wanted to go far and fast. So i thought you could put artificial gravity in front of the seat, so when you accelerate with 5 Gs you just simulate 5 Gs in front of you and then you feel like 0 Gs again. So even 1000 Gs would be possible. But only if there is artificial gravity.
But then I noticed. Gravity (or as i know it, maybe my understanding is wrong) is acting on all atoms in my body at the same time. Of course, my feet are closer to the earth then my head, so maybe the effect on my feet is a little bit earlier and stronger, but in this example we will ignore this tiny tiny difference. As i know they claim, gravity moves with the speed of light. So when I jump from a plane, every atom in my body will be pulled towards earth AT THE SAME TIME with the SAME FORCE.
When we compare this to de-/acceleration now, we will notice, that we are being pushed or pulled. But only at the surface of contact. And the Information of this is only transferred through the mechanical pushing of the atoms inside my body onto each other. So the information of it moves only with the speed of sound.
So artificial de-/acceleration is nothing alike gravity.
Or did I do a mistake anywhere?
edit::// It's like magic, every time I order my thoughts like that I almost immediately have another idea ^^
What is equivalent is, when we are standing on a flat surface, e.g an elevator, and it's not moving, we experience 1G. Gravity pushes all ou Atoms into the ground at the same time, but our feet resits the force, an the atoms push back with the speed of sound again!
When it now is moving with a constant acceleration of 9.8 m/s² up, it feels the same as 2 G or if it moves down with that rate it feels like 0 G. The effect of the pushing into the ground with gravity is when staying still! While with the acceleration we have to constantly move. That's where I had my mistake. I compared the states wrong.
