The digitized newspapers are a frickin goldmine of information,

They say it so matter of factually, like it is no big deal, this snippet of the whole article, he was a full blooded Irish Giant a red haired giant ?

This article is in the second column of the newspage, (below that article is more about Chattanooga flooding) I ran across The Dead Giant while looking for floods.

• He had always billed himself as being 8'10" and in some circles as much as 9'3". In about 1860, he was measured by Dr. Virchow as being 7'3.4" (222 cm) tall.

Yes news worthy enough for a newspaper in Indiana to reprint the article from the Baltimore Sun, where he lived. but then again it seemed matter of fact too, but I just thought it sounded weird, a full blooded Irish giant, what exactly does that mean?

There are literally hundreds of old newspaper articles about giants. Lots of pics too. i kept running across them while researching for the Smithsonian suppressing evidence thread. Decided not to include all that evidence because it really needs to be a separate topic. The last generation of giants. What happened to the world to wipe them out of the gene pool? It would almost have to be something atmospheric, like a change in gravity or something that shortened their lives or made giving birth more difficult. I really can't imagine what could've caused their demise.

I really like your idea, something changed and they couldn't thrive anymore.
It's funny I knew about the Smithsonian hiding evidence and what have you, about giants, I was just so surprised to see an actual obituary for a giant man.

Nice video @wizz33, my speakers seems to have crapped out, I'll get some later, I wasn't able to listen to this, but really, who needs to listen!
There is so much evidence of giants in the past, it sound be common accepted knowledge that there was a race of giants inhabiting Earth.

There are so many articles from the 1800s of giant skeletons being dug up left and right. It would be impossible for me to start posting from my collection and certainly Hugh Newman has most likely seen anything I could come up with. But... I enjoy the condescending remarks on this one:

Were we the "Hobbits" to this former race of men? Were these global floods, explosions and catastrophic fires set upon the Earth by those who sought to eliminate any traces of these giants? Did the line of giants live on through genetics, occasionally cropping up as "gigantism" as we know it today?

If the latter is true, then it stands to reason that the Earth at a former time was more conducive to larger humans. I say this because even though the modern day giants are massive compared to a normal human, they seem to pale in comparison to these "giant" artifacts that have been found. Looking at the video for post #9, if these giants were 8-10' tall then these books/cutlery/doors would still be oversized for them. If, in fact, these artifacts aren't elaborate hoaxes it would seem to imply that these giants were closer to 15-20' tall. In addition, the severe health problems those with gigantism face (joint problems, GI issues, etc) would only crop up in an environment that is less suitable for giant humans.

Sadly, all we really have are scant traces of evidence of these giants - - mostly inferences based off observations and a few newspaper articles here and there. At least, that is all the information that the regular citizen would be privy to if you weren't deep in the Smithsonian/Vatican/Elite private collections. If it was someone's job to eliminate the history of giants, I daresay they have done about as well of a job as I can think one could do, given the monumental task it likely took. Giant doors are compelling but circumstantial at best, and most wouldn't even bother noticing such a benign but curious piece of architecture.

A while back we were talking about giants in another thread, and it was mentioned about us maybe could have been like Hobbits and the weird thing, I had been thinking the exact same thing the night before when watching one of the LOTR movies. maybe it was Return of the King or The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Anyway it was like a epiphany, 'We are the Hobbits" *edit* oh honestly I ran across my other post, then I said Hobbits, well, Hobbits or Dwarfs, little people, whatever, maybe we are Munchkins.

Yeah also agree the size and magnitude of the big doors, some mighty tall creatures were going through them. You know, we need to start paying attention to the size of the steps leading up to huge doors, but of course it would be extremely easy for us Hobbits to redo the stairs for ourselves.
