Those Red Army individuals definitely sound ruthless beyond belief.
If those were artificially created humanoids indeed, it would be interesting to find out what happened to them after they fulfilled their mission.
When you look at the hellstorm documentary about the annihilation of Eastern Germany by the Russians, starting at minute 30 (warning: graphic content), the topic of the Russian troops is discussed.
Apparently the Sovjets sent a second wave of soldiers into the fields to overrun the villages and cities after the first wave had already disarmed everyone. I didn't know this.
The germans mostly feared this second wave. It didn't consist of typical Russians, but of Mongols from Eastern Russia, most of them convicted criminals.
A woman says that the first wave of soldiers, actual russian soldiers, were even friendly, they simply looked for weapons but left the civilians alone. But the second wave was brutal, without any sign of what we consider human, they tortured, raped, killed.

Around 5% of the trapped population of Demmin commited suicide.
After the first reports of the Russian brutality had emerged, almost everyone living in the East tried to flee to Central Germany, but many weren't fast enough. Germans knew they would die if they stayed. And those who stayed died indeed, a couple million.
Exactly the same thing was going on in Vienna where a regular Infantry Corps were first into Vienna and behaved correctly - within three days they were recalled, and a Corps of Mongols were given the order - "Do as you please " They did, much to the shame of the Russians but we were not supposed to critisise as after all - we were allies !
One horrific tale we were told of a company of Mongols entered a Maternity unit - raped everyone in sight and then bayonneted the expectant mothers... this was a huge joke as these men were even lower than animals.
Unfortunateluy our other Ally must share the blame for the Berlin atrocities as they held back Monty's army when he could have been in Berlin five weeks before the Russians got there !
Many survived in Vienna but they have absolutely no regard for anything Russian to this day as they raped and pillaged their way all through their sector of Austria. We saw trainloads of goods all heading east,stolen from everywhere !

So if you ask me, the cloning idea actually does make sense in this context. Mongol clones? Can the brutality be explained by their distance from western civilization alone?
The Soviets used groups of Asian troops on the Western front, against the Germans, but there were apparently no Mongolian units. It is possible, perhaps even likely, that Russian officers and NCOs considered all Asian troops, even those from Southern Eurasia SSRs who spoke no Russian, to be Mongolians. Specialists in Mongolian history describe how the P.R. Mongolia government kept its troops facing toward the Japanese threat. The Germans viewed the Asians as subhuman and horrifying, and treated Asian PoWs even more viciously than they treated captured Soviet troops from Europe.
