This thread is dedicated to analysis of the so-called «field memory» effect. The basis for this analysis is the following video:

«Память поля (1998 г.)»

Given that it would be too time-consuming to translate the whole video from Russian into English, I have instead made a short summary of it. It also includes some additional facts about Heinrich Silanov and his research, found in different sources. Let’s first say a few words about Silanov:

Генрих Силанов [E].jpg

Heinrich Silanov – spectroscopist, head of the Voronezh Committee for the Study of Anomalous Phenomena. In 1964 he moved to Voronezh at the invitation of the Geological Administration of the Central Regions in order to organize a spectral laboratory at the Voronezh geological exploration expedition and became its leader. In the 70s, he was invited as a cameraman and analyst to a group of anomalous phenomena researchers, organized by B.P. Kudryavtsev and A.V. Mosolov.

The video above shows some of his experiments, where he demonstrates proofs of something very unusual. Using a special camera, he managed to capture objects that were not present in the scene at the time of making photos, but existed there at a certain point of time in the past. In other words, his camera managed to capture images of the past. Now let’s look at some example photos from the video. The following photo was one of the first in the series of photos that Silanov made during his experiments:

Here we can see a real car on the left and outlines of a different car that was once parked there. Silanov claims that there was no car on the right at the moment the photo was made. Another example:

As Silanov explains, in this photo we can see two men that stood exactly at this point and talked just a couple of minutes before the photo was taken. Here some more examples, now with trees:

The photo managed to depict non-existing tops of the trees. According to locals (as Silanov claims), they used to be that tall, before a storm damaged them around 30 years ago. Similar story happened to the following tree, which once got hit by a lightning (according to a local fisher):

According to Silanov, what we are seeing in all these photos is a special type of information, that is being stored by space in a particular spot. When an object is placed somewhere, it emits energy/information, while the space around it somehow records/stores this information, which allows us to extract it using special equipment.

The video has a couple of additional example photos, so you can watch it on your own if you wish to see them. Either way, the most important question here is whether the observed effect is true/real or not. Obviously, the given video has aroused a lot of opposing opinions. By looking at these photos you (the reader) are probably confused/skeptical too. So let’s look at the technical side of the question. How exactly did Silanov make those photos?

Here is what Silanov had to say about his equipment:
The following information was compiled of original emails from Silanov posted here.
My main profession is a spectroscopist. For more than 30 years I have been in charge of the spectral laboratory of the State Geological Enterprise «VORONEZHGEOLOGIA». For this reason, I had no problems either with measuring and analytical equipment, or with high-quality special photographic materials, which were specially crafted for my laboratory by manufacturing plants in Moscow and Pereslavl-Zalessky, Yaroslavl Region.

My camera was made for special photographic plates 9x12 cm in size. Such spectral photographic plates plus a quartz lens made it possible to photograph in a wide spectral range from 180 nm to 750 nm (nanometers). I used «ПФС-02» type photographic plates, with a sensitivity of 12-15 ГОСТ units, which develop under red lighting in a darkroom.

For the manufacture of a lens that transmits ultraviolet, I used a natural, very transparent, pure (according to the result of spectral, chemical, mineralogical and petrographic analyzes) quartz crystal from my mineralogical collection. I sawed a plate out of it on a stone-cutting machine, processing it on a special grinding machine designed to make transparent sections for petrographic laboratory research. Then, I gave it the shape of a lens of the required size using, of course, the appropriate abrasive pastes and attachments.

To manufacture such a lens, I spent around a year. Its focal length turned out to be about 180 mm, with a transmittance of 200 nm in the UV range and up to 1000 nm in the IR range. Which suited me just fine. I measured the spectral characteristics of the lens on an «СФ-46» spectrophotometer. Having made the lens, I began to adapt it to the camera, and came to the conclusion that the most suitable one for me was an old-version «Фотокор» camera with an iris diaphragm from the «Москва» camera. Sharpness was adjusted using matte glass. In order to somehow compensate for the chromatic aberration of a single lens system, when photographing, only the central part of the visible frame was used, which had satisfactory sharpness.

Photo camera allegedly used by Silanov during his experiments:

«Фотокор» camera.

Another very important (in my opinion) detail is that Silanov used sound and SHF (super high-frequency) radiation in his experiments. Here are two interesting quotes on this subject. First, about the use of sound:
With the field camp set up (which took almost two days), we carried out the first planned experiment. The place was not chosen by chance: in past years, we managed to photograph images of the past there more than once, and I hoped that the planned studies, would once again bring a curious result. Varying the sound from low to high frequencies, I photographed several frames with different sound frequencies.

The next day, we decided to repeat the experiment, observing all the parameters of yesterday's photography, including the time of shooting and the frequency of the applied sound. One day, having installed loudspeakers and a camera operating in the ultraviolet range on the river bank, we conducted another experiment, photographing and «voicing» the opposite sandy bank of Khopra (river) with different frequencies. The resulting pictures brought interesting material.

A quite about using SHF radiation:
I had a chance to meet with the visual manifestation of «memory» during experiments on the artificial excitation of this phenomenon in the 1997 expedition. There, focusing the camera on a section of the terrain (irradiated at that moment by a microwave generator), where there were no foreign objects, I saw a clear image of a red «Москвич» passenger car on the matte glass of the camera. The entire observation lasted no more than 5-7 seconds, after which the image suddenly disappeared. Approximately 10-12 minutes later, this phenomenon repeated itself, but instead of a car, four car headlights appeared, arranged in pairs one above the other.

This circumstance confirms our assumption that, depending on the degree of excitation of the field in which the information is recorded, it is possible to obtain visible images in their dynamic sequence. By finding ways to «excite» recorded events, we can provide forensic scientists, historians, archaeologists and many other professionals with a unique tool to look into the past.

I do not rule out that photos «space memory» are confined to certain places and are associated with a certain state of the electromagnetic field. This assumption is supported by the fact that the time of obtaining almost all photographs that recorded fragments of the past coincides in time with the registration of significant variations in the electromagnetic field.

Conclusion:

My personal opinion is that Heinrich Silanov’s research has managed to uncover a very real and important physical phenomenon, that is most probably being purposefully concealed by shadow forces. The reason for its concealment is simple: the technology is too dangerous, despite all its positive applications. Just imagine what we could see with it, especially when it comes to old world’s artifacts and technologies.

As for the physical side of it, I believe that the official explanation on the so-called electromagnetic spectrum offers us a limited and distorted vision. Most probably, there is something we are not told about. Something that could explain all those photographic visions that appeared in Silanov’s experiments. I think that we should look more into the use of sound and SHF radiation in combination with photography. The key we're looking for may be hidden in this direction.

I would like to add one more curious idea here. For many years, there's been a whole bunch of rumors, urban legends and documentaries about ghosts, sometimes even with credible-looking photo and video evidence. I think that some of those materials can be results of the very same physical effect as we see in Silanov's experiments.

I often think of something similar when I look at and analyze old photographs of cities and buildings. It almost always occurs to me that many of today's buildings are built on some kind of energy frame (which is invisible to the normal eye). From this, many new buildings look like their older versions (the common foundation is just one reason, in my opinion). The only difference is that the new buildings are taller (perhaps they are just restoring the old high-tech buildings in a simpler modern style and purpose).

I came to this thought because of the fact that many houses in pre-revolutionary and Soviet-era Russia had side windows. They do not fit in any way into the standard energy model, based on the modern view of the climate. Because of these windows, the temperature of the air in the rooms of the building becomes lower. So you have to spend more resources on heating the building.

No building regulations on light, can justify the extra significant cost of district heating in Russia (it is a very large amount in the scale of the country). So there is some reason that is not visible to the naked eye.
