I spend a lot of free time haunting digital library sites looking for "stuff" and ran across these large folks at the New York Public Library in a collection of military uniforms in a sub-collection, Turkey 1821-1825.

Who are these giants? I especially like these 3 giants, they look nice and kind.

Below: According to Wacki-pedia Kizlar Agha was the name given to the leader of the African eunuchs, that is who is in the print and they say the man in the middle is the court Dwarf, so they say. And the other big guy is the leader of the white eunuchs, at least going by the description on the card. Maybe the small guys is a dwarf, but there is no explanation I could find for the first card.

Yup, they can always say that those are “court Dwarfs”. There is no way of disproving this. We may judge by the body structure of these suspected court Dwarfs, but ideally a physical reference would be nice, i.e. a building or a known size fixture.

Very good Sherlock
The second picture, the man on the left seated, he looks far too large for the couch, while to me the "dwarf" looks like he is a better fit. Yes I certainly will keep that in mind, I have been searching for giants far and wide.

Stuck with my phone for today. Will have to look at the linked up images later.

In general I think we overlook quite a few of them giant people in the paintings specifically. When they all look the same height nothing appears to be out of the ordinary even with buildings around. Occasionally you run into a contemporary image of the same area, and that’s when realization comes.

Well jeez now ya got me thinking they might not be giants, but they probably had their own pipes with them, so yeah they must be giants. Good call on the hats to cover their coneheads and just looking at the small dude he just doesn't seem dwarflike to me
