Here are some japanese world maps including peoples and customs for user reference that I stumbled upon during my research in another erased history related topic.

For the life of me I cannot find the link for the pdf file I took these from bit suffice it to say the images were provided by a university collection and of such a low res that I can't help but feel whoever uploaded it had little intention making any of the scans actually legable.

I've translated captions that although are blurry and in places faint, are still easily recognizable. Chinese words such as 'ren' or person and 'da' or big do still come through despite the low res.

Please inspect and decide for yourselves whether you think it was common knowledge in those days that there were well known areas inhabited by giants and little people.

Would this be the PDF file you were looking for? - Sekai roku daishu, 1850 - it's actually way more than just a map in there, 55 pages of some fun reading I think. Downloaded for myself as well. The file is like 65 MB. Too big to attach here. Converting will kill the quality of all the maps in there.

I do think it was a common knowledge. Maps and books attributed to a specific period are full of non-existent creatures. We are constantly being told that writers, artists and cartographers of the past were producing some sort of science-fiction. I consider such scientific opinions to be pure speculations. Especially when you consider some of the most respectable people of the past providing accounts of interaction with different beings.

Yeah thats it. Thabks for that. It's like a collection of Portuguese inspired japanese maps drawn from older source maps and multiple iterations and copies of the same older maps. I stumbled upon that looking for old maps showing early habitation of the Americas.

Any time. Need to read up. That's a lot of text in there to consume.
