I don't know how it ties in, but in case some were not aware, it is probably interesting to consider the esteemed status amongst the animal kingdom that Swans enjoy in the UK:

In summary the Queen owns all Swans in the UK (according to the law, I would argue one cannot own another living creature), and only the elite were allowed to eat, swan meat. There is a poem in there somewhere. It is fairly common knowledge in the UK.

Also of interest is Buckinghamshire's coat of arms, which essentially is a gold chained Swan. What this has to do with Denmark or Japan, I know not, although it may be of interest that Buckinghamshire probably has more of an association with TPTB than most Shires in the UK. Hellfire caves / Chequers and so on (although to avoid confusion Buckingham Palace is not in Buckinghamshire, although Buckingham is).
