Bingo, double head eagle.
That facade does indeed look like it was ripped down to hide something.
Three door motif is classic Tartar.

Apologies if you wanted to talk about giant skeletons.
Spoils of war? Or just a guess, but maybe Medici was a Tartar holdout that was villified in history.

Three door motif is Tartar? Do you have a source for this info?

I am also interested in the double eagle symbolism. You see this everywhere, but what is the meaning? Was this a Tartar symbol?

The etchings follow the pattern of people not matching the architecture.

But that skeleton would walk in just fine, and fit in perfectly inside this church building.

Double-headed eagle we are all interested in. Here is a dedicated discussion thread to keep eagle things in one place.

What is that pyramidal shape in the rear of the interior? My first thought was that it looked similar to a Christmas/Yule tree considering what I'm assuming to be, the two-headed eagle placed upon the top of it.

I live right around the corner from San Lorenzo. The official story on the facade is that it was never completed.
