SH Archive Request. Formations in Congo.

This is my first post here, so do correct me if I am posting wrong

Originally motivated by this: (Man-made Lakes Of Africa)

I've been looking at the areas around the lakes in Congo, and found these weird patterns stretching for miles. Does anybody know what these are?

G.earth coordinates: 15°54′0.9″E, 1°01′23.8″S

I just spent about 45 minutes doing all my research tricks and I didn't find anything. I would like to know, too!

Welcome! I had done a pretty extensive scanning of the area long ago, and there is an article that explains the spirals as 'fishing technique' of the people there, not very convincing, though. I'll see if I can find it again, I had bookmarked it on my old computer.
However, I had never seen the patterns you bring us here! I would have remembered.

Try it on Bing Maps, too, the colours contrast is stricking... The features seem fixed to the ground, not moving, if you compare Gmaps & Bing.

No, it was not this one... Did some searching in different engines but I cannot find it. I remember that I had a discussion about it on twitter and someone send it to me... on my old, now deleted, account. LOL, digital age problems
