Never heard of any bells on the Library of Congress, or anywhere on or in the Capitol Building. I wonder what happened to them.

Plissken mentions them on her LOC thread and says the official story is they were used to direct the workers on where to place bricks. LOL. Expensive bells are just better than whistling and pointing, don't you agree?

I think the signaling was her guess. Bells are weird in general, I doubt we understand the original purpose of all of them.

I was thinking the same thing when I read the conclusion about these bells being used for directing workmen. I'll post it here:

The article is from the Library of Congress Information bulletin. For a organization dedicated to preserving history, they sure do make a lot of guesses about their building's own history.
