Good points Sitchin has: air fortresses in the sky - check, that's from the last millennium; descending "Gods" (read: humans) who require gold for their tech - check, that's from the last millennium; genetic manipulation of animals and "mankind" - check, that's from the last millennium. All of these things are revealed in more salient sources than Sitchin, without the boogeyman "sky aliens" to distract you from the fact that it was people running this shit. You can keep Sitchin if you want, but his narrative is pretty much along the lines of 1984, Brave New World, Star Wars, and so on - reveal little parts of the recent past, make people believe it's "fictional" or "ancient history", reap profit. I agree that babies shouldn't be thrown out with bath water, but Sitchin's baby is pretty small for how much bath water he's got.

wanna hear a story? I read the Sumerian Text Corpus all the time have for decades sooo (a long time ago) I pick up a Sitchen book and after the few pages I was all like this guy is making crap up and his psuedo Sumerian lingo is laughable. Why do people give any credibility to this guy?? GAAAHH!

So in subsequent years Sitchen's so called translations (of no text I can find) entirely derailed any serious study of ancient Mesopotamian literature. To complicate it all most of the really good Sumerian stuff is locked behind super secret academic firewalls. < weird, but it turns out the USA guberment is obsessed with ancient Mesopotamian artifacts and writings, More high strangeness Maria Orsic the Vril priestess of the Nazi empire channeled technological plans for space ships and such like in SUMERIAN..>WHAT???

Then years later Heiser comes out with his books and Im all THANK GOD!! somebody who gets this and isn't mind controlled by Sitchen BS . The minute anybody cites Sitchen as a source they lose any credibility in my estimation .

Now that I said all that what is actually in the texts that are available to us is !984 ,Star Wars @welkyn,I will ad Lord of The Rings, Dracula , Hp Lovecraft,Grimms Fairytales and every Marvel movie, that and book of Enoch and you get the most epic Sci Fi story ever ever >>> Here is the link to the text corpus, read them if you dare Sumerian Text Corpus or don't but then don't talk about them

I know this is entirely unhelpful, but this happened to be one of the first things I read from the Sumerian Text Corpus which you linked,

Does anyone waste hours reading Zecharia Sitchin's fake Sumerian text bullshit?

Unfortunately I lost. I read every book in Portuguese that seems to have translated them all.

They are stories of family intrigue and many crazy things like aliens putting sperm on lettuce to gain birthright, or aliens biting off each other's testicles on Mars.

Basically all of his "work" comes down to proving that the God of Jews and Christians is an evil alien who wanted to leave humanity as enslaved animals, while the god of Freemasons (whatever he may be) wanted human freedom. In short, it is the old Gnosticism but without Gnostic "spirituality". It is a materialistic gnosticism or actually a trap to later introduce pure gnosticism.

I had no idea he was a freemason, though I always doubted the translation of the tablets. Honestly, sometimes I question the authenticity of those Sumerian tablets.

I do too sometimes, and I read something from them almost everyday. However after almost two decades of reading them I'm finally drilling down to some fascinating discoveries directly applicable to the SH history quest.

Can any of us read Sumerian cylinder seals?
Only a handful worldwide can.

I heard the CIA was VERY interested in his translations. Wonder why?
There are lots of references to the Annunaki in the Quran and Bible, etc.
The UFO community adores Sitchin, mostly. Is that good or bad? Hells-bells, its a great story!

I don't care for Freemasons at all, but not all of them are skullduggery-minded.
Interpretation is key, yes. A wary eye towards fraud must be kept open, yes.
Conclusion: We should be very wary, but should not cast Sitchin 100% to the wind just because some "don't buy it." Or deep down are scared by it.
Pretty expensive choice if Sitchin has some good points when all history becomes clear in the next 25 years. I hope.

if you really care to you yourself or /myself. can muddle through it cuneiform is an alphabet not a language, so you would need a basic timeline and linguistic knowledge to figure it out, depending on what country and culture your tablet was from ,but yeah you can write english books in cunieform if you want to . here's Digital Hammurabi they will teach you cunieform and they are a really sweet pair of experts in this field and they answer questions are very accessible and willing to teach

But is Gray trustworthy?

I don't know. There is much to do about the origin of man and they are mostly confusing.
Bible, Kuran, Book of Dyan, the veda's et cetera.
Nature/universe is a very fine complex design. I do not belief that this design is just a coincidence.
How it has been created, I really do not know, the only thing I do is enjoying its wonders.

Is it fallacious to assume any alternative history books that appear in mainstream stores such as Barnes & Noble are necessarily grifter trash? I've been wary of Sitchin on an instinctive level for as long as I've been aware of him. Also, I'd like to echo the previous posts' concerns about the veracity of the translations.

I agree that the enki and enlil history may be a trap for a future devil worship, but on the other hand the god described in the old testament doesnt look like a loving or caring entity.
Also the history of the snake and the apple looks like the serpent is providing knowlege to man, which is forbidden by god. Why would a creator supress knowlege to his creation? I can only think it served well as it was for the creator purpose.

I agree. The Old Testament god, as far as I have studied, was taken from the pantheon of Canaanite gods. Originally he was a god of war with ox features (hence the story of the golden calf worship) married to Asherah. The Jews were a derivative people of the Canaanites.

My criticism of Sitchin is that he tries to impose his Gnostic-Masonic religion by trying to discredit another religion.

To exchange one religion for another in the end does not bring anyone closer to the truth which is what we all desire.

Needless to say, to me the characters in the Bible are clearly mythological as well as the tale of Eden.

I think much of Sumerian tales are a duplicate of mythological stories from Assyrians/Phoenicians/Akkadians and thrown in a mix of Aegyptian myths. Much of what Sitchin did Fomenko would easily classify it as a clear duplicated story written in cuneiform. All the mythological deities look the same, whether they come from the Greeks, the Nordics, the Egypt, the Vedas etc.

You want some mind blowing stuff, go and read the Emerald Tables of Thot. I can't guarantee those are original though. All I can say is that the name Thot it's the equivalent of "he says" in Albanian. Good luck figuring all that out.

Herms was just a title like Caesar or King etc.

I reckon before the deluge the people were more technically advanced than what we are today.
