We've all heard that one before. The terraces of The Crystal Palace, the glass and steel structure that somehow burst into flames in 1936, have stood there since it was built without needing to be touched but now they suddenly need to be restored? Supposedly they are only clearing the overgrown vegetation but what's with all the scaffolding and excavating? As some of you may know I live fairly close to Crystal Palace so this is particularly interesting to me.
