Call me old fashioned, and must add I am indebted to contributors of this thread to reawaken my thinking which has been on a less than good scholarly background, a fact.
I reduce a long list of persuasive formations in my conclusions (at this moment) regarding flat vs round to Eratosthenes who surely faced similar arguments in his time changing a whole new platform of understanding.
I'll cut it short, and I am a romantic, Copernicus, Galileo Maxwell, Faraday, Hertz and Tesla provide me the ingredients of the spherical realm, electromagetics and tone. So many heroic mathematicians and specialities on this basis of work injected their organic growth to that account over millennia and include Einstein each enjoying their developing mathematics as a result albeit their focus elsewhere. Personally im attached to these greats because they provide calculative and demonstrative successes in both discovery and invention, they found no cause to reinvent the wheel.
So when it comes down to it astrophysics and my perception of Quantum, all of it beyond me, still I am not learning any new persuasives. However my science is in mainstream by way of apology to thread contributors who are admirelingly going beyond.
It is not my intent to incite the old arguments that would have gone on in the past, its my simple curiosity and wonderment of what's new and could drive new avenues for Truth.
Until such a time, I conclude the earth is a sphere and whilst flat earth arguments is tempting there are seemingly too many positives for the calculative results on a sphere realm. Can flat earth recalculate everything the sphere result has accomplished.?
I'm thinking flat earth is a deliberate distraction, perhaps the New Space Program will amaze us with findings (cough choke) of new stuff, perhaps exonerating past mistakes of moonlandings AND clarifying this resurrected debate, wouldn't that be great again.
To ground myself from this I recall in my career, traveling all continents approx and 60% of key capital cities, it struck me amusingly most offices had a map of the world, most depicted their country at the center, unlike the classic portrayal as in say the UN Logo. All things are relative hahaha.
I'm not clear on how you may have reached those facts are you able to elaborate? Thanks
I would more eagerly agree with you if you might agree with me to correct statement to 'manipulated science'. That's more true for me. Thanks
