Not to blame the archeologists here specifically, but this shows pretty well how research is carried out these days.
Although it is pretty ironic that "new information" in this case simply was the owner calling them and straight up telling them he built it. If it wasn't for that, they would certainly still portray the story of a 4,000 year old religious stone circle.
So in the article they are describing a probably made up story how they were basically already on the right track when the call came in.
And they were simply looking at old maps for their "archeology" work. Which means this forum is now officially in the field of professional archeology! Congratulations to all of us.
