The August of 1938 edition of Astounding Science-Fiction, Volume 21, No. 6, included a genre shaping short story titled "Who goes there?" by author Don A. Stuart, which is a pen name used by John W. Campbell, Jr. Three movies were based on this story - all with titles that included the theme of "Thing".

Some versions were based more closely upon the story, but the first film version (1951) was quite different. Not only did it massage the data, it tended to put out an agenda that was appropriate for this time period just after the 1947 Roswell incident. Probably the easiest way to express this is by a simple comparison.

The short story speaks of an alien craft that crashed in the Antarctic, very near the Southern magnetic pole, but based upon the level of ice it probably hit sometime around 20 Million years previously. One quote speaks much: "We saw it there in the blue ice, a thing like a submarine without a conning tower or directive vanes, 280 feet long and 45 feet in diameter at its thickest." Notice that this is very much like the cigar shaped craft reported a great many times and not like what the Media was feeding America in those days - saucer shaped craft.

Now, you are probably thinking that the Antarctic reminds you of the version you are familiar with, the second film version - directed by John Carpenter in 1981 and called "The Thing". But the first version of the movie, from 1951, it takes place near the "North" pole - the Arctic and not the Antarctic of the book version. So already they are redirecting us to not look at the South Pole, don't think about cigar-shaped craft, don't think about alien craft that is at the very least 20 million years more advance than our own, emitting magnetic rays, and perhaps crafted of magnesium. In 1951, so soon after Roswell, they could not afford these ideas circulating. By 1981, with many other movies produced, it was easier to steer back towards the version from the book.

The craft is also described, which is different from the movie versions: "We reached the side and found the metal was something we didn't know. Our beryllium-bronze, non-magnetic tools wouldn't touch it. Barclay had some tool-steel on the tractor, and that wouldn't scratch it either. We made reasonable tests, even tried some acid from the batteries with no results." "They must have had a passivating process to make magnesium metal resist acid that way, and the alloy must have been at least ninety-five percent magnesium. But we had no way of guessing that, so when we spotted the barely opened lock door, we cut around it. There was clear, hard ice inside the lock, where we couldn't reach it. Through the little crack we could look in and see that only metal and tools were in there, so we decided to loosen the ice with a thermite bomb."

Here we see that the material is not known on earth, the hull is possibly of magnesium at a high percentage of purity. And those are some other factors that tend to be wiped out from stories during that period just after Roswell.

The alien or monster was also described differently. In this original version it was "The monster changed as they looked. Three blinded eyes bubbled and crawled hideously in feral hate—growing—seeking sight again—— " And also: "They haven't seen those three red eyes and that blue hair like crawling worms. Crawling? damn, it's crawling there in the ice right now!"

How they found the craft is also interesting. "The more delicate instruments of the physicists, instruments especially designed for this expedition and its study of the magnetic pole, detected a secondary effect, a secondary, less powerful magnetic influence about 80 miles southwest of here. The Secondary Magnetic Expedition went out to investigate it. There is no need for details. We found it, but it was not the huge meteorite or magnetic mountain Norris had expected to find. Iron ore is magnetic, of course; iron more so—and certain special steels even more magnetic from the surface indications, the secondary pole we found was small, so small that the magnetic effect it had was preposterous. No magnetic material conceivable could have that effect. Soundings through the ice indicated it was within one hundred feet of the glacier surface." And again we see a craft that throws off a very strong magnetic field.

Inside the craft they observed three body shapes, although it was an additional one who had managed to escape the craft only to freeze to death about 20 feet outside that they brought back to their camp for testing. So, not the "un-manned" saucers that they sold us for so long, and not the crushed alien bodies but rather four crew members that perished from the cold.

From their observations while it was thawing out, and the bits of tissue they cut and then hardened, they thought that it was native to a hotter planet than Earth Not colder, like Mars or the Moon, nor like Venus was thought to be - cold until proven otherwise by later science. This is not the typical men from Mars theme that we were sold beginning in those days.

In the 1951 movie, the first one made from this story, called "The Thing from Another World", the scientific team that was checking the magnetism of the South Pole, and who were basically peaceful civilians, is now changed to a mix of scientists and Air Force officials, and the scene shifts to the Arctic. As a way to tell us that "the Air Force should handle aliens and their crashed vehicles?" And, "don't study the Antarctic too closely, folks".

This first movie was directed by Howard W. Hawks, a well-known film director from the classic Hollywood era.
None of his other films involved science fiction, and many wondered at the time why he shifted just this once from Casablanca type movies and westerns to sci-fi.

Hawks himself joined the United States Army Air Service early in WWI. Unfortunately,. Hawks's military records were destroyed in the 1973 Military Archive Fire, so the only account of his military service is his own. I've seen this theme used previously when they wanted to hide connections with the intelligence groups, but perhaps it was simply an "accident".

Everyone, and I mean everyone, was very clear that Hawks directed the film. But he let his editor, Christian Nyby take credit, and he also omitted listing any of the actors in the credits. Strange, but not so much if you had been "encouraged" to make this version of the movie. In the movie the creature was a super human alien veggie-type monster. No three eyes in this one.

One of the people present in his version of the story was a newspaperman named Scotty. He uttered the last lines of the film, in fact, when he advised us to "Watch the skies, everywhere! Keep looking. Keep watching the skies!" Mixed signals, or just a psyop in which they wished us to watch the skies so they did not need to? People did watch the skies, but when reporting what they observed they were called nut jobs by the Military and government. So right after Roswell they are telling us to watch the skies, but you don't want to report it based on their reactions to sightings and their habit of claiming everything as swamp gas and weather balloons.

The short story alien who could imitate other life forms was jettisoned - in this first movie we have something like a Frankenstein monster - in the form of a super vegetable that feeds on blood. They seemed to want to down-play the shape-shifting idea, which makes me believe there might be something to that idea after all.

In 1982 the John Carpenter version, (second movie) called The Thing, revives the idea of an alien that is able to mimic other living forms - a true shape shifter again. Carpenter brings the action back to the Antarctic, like the short story. A group of explorers in the Antarctic region have encountered a vicious alien organism that can consume a person and make itself a perfect copy. This is a classic horror film that is loaded with brilliant special effects and graphic violence that is a perfect way to spend a cold evening. Kurt Russel stars as a troubled alcoholic who takes charge and tries to find which person is really the alien creature. One of the most brilliant things about the movie is that it plays with the idea of not knowing who you can trust. Or, subliminally speaking, you can not get to close to an alien because he is likely to kill you and assume your identity - a very scary thought at that.

Set on an isolated base in Antarctica, this version seems almost to pick up where the original movie version (The Thing From Another World) left off. The American scientists discover a decimated Norwegian base some miles distant. Everyone is dead, and only the half charred remains of some unidentifiable thing left to smolder outside the compound might offer any answers to what may have happened. The Thing is brought back to the American base and, too late, the scientists realize that it is alive and lethal. The Thing thaws out and is off, not only killing anyone and anything that crosses Its path, but also absorbing them, making Itself into whoever and whatever it wants.

In the first movie version we find a lot of changes that seem designed to push us towards one version and away from another. True disinformation at its finest - since most of the changes were not needed in order to bring the story along. But I will leave that conclusion up to you - any comments?

Not much to comment except John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing’ is in my top 3 favorite movies.

The tone of the movie is so dark and desolate and hopeless is one that I have never seen replicated so well. The incredible practical effects leads to one of the finest cinematic experiences I have ever had.

As far as the manipulation goes, it certainly could have the effect of making one hesitate about the idea of visiting Antartica or instilling a fear of aliens, or other-worldly. Additionally the movie Alien certainly would have this effect as well but it doesn’t stop them from being great movies.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great frightening experience much more than your standard horror, this one is a bit more of a thinker. Just because someone looks, sounds, and acts like a person doesn’t mean that they truly are.

I agree - I've seen all three of them, multiple times. Great movies. I watch one of these plus They Live and old reruns of V from time to time, just to keep them fresh in mind.

I haven’t seen it but I will after reading this. Just to add to the manipulative agenda in movies: the references to Antarctica and ‘outer space’ in films are not to put us off going there as quite obviously hardly anyone would have that opportunity. It’s to persuade us they are real. Which may suggest they aren’t.

Shape-Shifter tales of the type that might assume any animal or human form are prevalent throughout our historical record. You may have heard of the Sumerian god Enlil? Our traditional scholars tell us that his name means Lord (en) plus Skies (Lil), but they are being crafty here because they know that this isn't quite correct. It's always written as EN.Lil2, which translates as the Lord of the Jestors, Fools, which has the additional connotation of shape-shifting. So it's been there since writing began, and it is found among the Greeks, Romans, Germanic tribes, Norse, etc. - worldwide.
The actual connection between Jesters such as court Jesters and shape shifting came into our English language through the Bards of Wales, who were Druid masters as well. The double-faced masks of the Romans speak to this same theme.
So yes, they do exist, at least according to a majority of our ancestors, and they are real even today.

I don't have much use for the Old Testament, but sometimes the words in the New seem appropriate to a situation - and this post seems to be one of them.

In Matthew 10:16 we see "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." In this verse, Jesus commanded His disciples — to "be as wise as serpents."

Let’s consider the behavior of serpents to see how this’ statement about these creatures relates to timing. First, serpents blend into the environment when they move into a new territory. Rather than announce their presence, they lay low, stay quiet, and blend into their surroundings. In fact, you could walk right past a snake and not know you’re close to it!

Most snakes have the ability to be nearly invisible because they were designed to be camouflaged. This camouflage serves as a protective “covering.” Even the fiercest aggressor could pass by, but the serpent would not likely be noticed because it blends so well into the landscape.

The camouflage gives the serpent latitude to find its way around new territory — to move about freely when “evaluating” a new situation. Serpents will assess a situation to identify places of shelter so they can settle into a new environment. They find hiding places to protect themselves from attack. They also observe where to find the easiest prey. When all of these assessments are made and the facts are assimilated, the serpent is ready to act. But this “settling in” is a key time for a serpent.

Can you see how creatures from other planets might use camouflage, or in this movie version, shape-shifting, to worm their way among us and attack when they have the chance? And yet we wonder why there are so many claims of the aliens representing reptiles in shape, when actually they don't - they look like us but act like the cunning serpents that they are. That's what we are and will be facing in the years ahead. And AI is just another face of the serpent, by the way.

Whatever “they” are.

They are Psychotic!

May I suggest a book I just finished called,

“An Amazing Journey into the Psychotic Mind”

By Jerry Marzinsky

These movies cloak reality. When you try to introduce the concepts of possession to people they say, “That’s like that Thing movie!” And put it safely back in the fiction dept. That’s the psyops, that’s it! Get people to ridicule the truth by presenting it in an incredulous way. No need to watch them over once this is realised…

Thank you - will pick up a copy. And yes I agree that it's all part of our "program".

I have wondered why so much occult information is put into movies, songs, and books. I think it’s more complicated than it being a way to point and say “hey you got that information from that movie”. I imagine that’s part of it, but I also don’t think these writers and directors are trying to warn us, inform us, or wake us up. Perhaps on some sort of spiritual level we HAVE to be told.

I have known shape-shifters existed for a long time. The only facts I have are from my own eyes. You can train your eyes to spot symptoms, and they are definitely serpentine qualities. Tongue flickering, and slit eyes, additional teeth, among others. These are what I consider facts because they are something that one can actually ‘see’

#1 some people out there are not (fully) human but pretending to be human. These entities I have seen are usually some type of ‘star’, ‘newscaster’, or famous sport athelete, but every so often I’ll spot a Joe Schmoe off the street who appears to be anything but human.

#2 these people have some type of serpentine qualities, slits for eyes, flickering tongue which gives merit to the reptilian idea.

#3 while these stars may have more impressive qualities, I have noticed in my own family and even in myself from old footage that I would do similar tongue flickering.

So what the hell does this mean? I have no other proofs. Everything else is speculation from something someone else has told us. The movie They Live appears to be the closest to what APPEARS to be the truth. That the world is being run by smokeless fire entities who live in the unseen and operate through or mimic humans.

I don’t believe much of what people like David Icke or anyone else for that matter are saying. But looking at old relics, these entities or similar entities have been with us for a very long time, and another thing to take note is that much if not all of humanity itself is also somehow related in some way to this being. So I believe to say that these entities are all bad or serving some evil agenda could serve as a detriment to understanding why we’re here. I have a feeling if we were able to see our distant ancestors it would all make sense.

I read your post carefully and I could not agree more. I notice the desire, no the actual need to flirt with us by using names for secret and buried projects as the names of persons or popular songs or games so that research becomes clouded. In contradictory actions from apparently separate circles within the same organizations, and much more.
Is it a requirement, or just their joy to do these things?

Perhaps you could answer one question for me while we are speaking of this - is there any human being that looks more alien and perhaps even reptilian like than Dr. Steven Greer?

I have not been able to find the definitive answers to your questions above. I do notice that from time to time, recently, I question whether I myself might have some connection to a group from beyond our tiny location in space.
I don't think so, I don't recall anything, but I don't Know, and I should, shouldn't we all?

Looking back I recall when I first began translating ancient languages from all over the world, and the ease with which I did it. And other communications as well. Yes, I had the training as a Cryptographer, and yes, I loved puzzles and other similar types when I was young, but is that all there is to it? I don't know. I believe I will continue on my same track and await what comes next - just like the other 8 billion sheep on the planet.
It hurts. I should be able to hope for much better. I can not it seems.
I will keep fighting the battle and hope the results are worth it -and I intend to
expose what I can, when I can.
Good luck and good searching. Jim

I had watched Steven Greer many years ago. I believed him for a time, but he certainly is one of those you can watch for a short while and get that uncanny valley feeling. I don't really like to say anything is fact but I believe beyond a reasonable doubt that he is one of these entities. Once again I can't tell if he IS one of them or if something is controlling him that somehow shows on camera. I also believe the same is true or similar about these other people, Alex jones, David Icke, etc.

I went through a strange experience after what I would consider my awakening. This is roughly 15 years ago. David Icke was one of the first. Steven Greer, project Camelot, even Alex Jones at this point. Despite how I feel about them now, These 'people' were incredibly influential in my awakening. I remember watching these people, believing it, getting scared, going to bed, convincing myself it wasn't real, then repeating the same pattern over and over until my mind finally accepted that there is an outside force influencing humanity from somewhere that is unseen for reasons I didn't comprehend. As I said, THAT is the only actual proof I have because I 'see' it with my own eyes.

A bit later on in life I began to distrust not some but ALL of these influencers, I used to make videos in this infancy under the alias illuminati puppet 333 because I believed/believe it is imperative NOT to put all your trust in ANYONE no matter who they are. But this doesn't answer the question that has been bugging me this whole time: Why are there non-human entities putting out information that is waking people up? I have heard some theories but none of them really make enough sense to me to mention.

I don't like to say we live on a 'flat','concave, or 'convex' world. I don't know, but I would say I no longer believe we live on a sphere planet. I believe the tiny speck planet idea is meant to make us feel small, insignificant, and not understand the importance of WHO we are and WHAT we do. I have seen and read enough to prove to me beyond a reasonable doubt that HERE is not where we think it is. But that's a whole other thing.

I really don't like to call people sheep. When we look at HOW MUCH EFFORT is being put in to keep us dumbed down and obedient, the amount of effort is astronomical. I believe that basically we have been domesticated, but the reason has to be a good one. I believe it has to do with WHAT WE ARE, but alas, I don't see anything remotely like this with my eyes. I know not a soul in my day-to-day life that is asking the same questions. I have no answer, only some minor opinions that aren't my own.

I think the movie They Live is so important because it is the closest to the truth spawned from what is the SEEN WORLD, however I believe it is just one movie and there is a LOT more to the story.
The point I was trying to make with the 'sheep' comment is that calling another human being a sheep is belittling them and dismissing them, or more importantly it's putting oneself ABOVE them. Just because a person cannot see some of the things we have seen or believe some of the things we may believe doesn't make them less of a person. There's 'good' and 'bad' people everywhere and in all faucets of life including this forum. The second we start saying 'im better because' is the second we begin to lose our way. All this information we gain on this forum is all well and good, but what truly matters are those around us. Those we know personally. If this information isn't helping us become a better person, help ourselves or others, then it is utterly useless. What good is the key to a city that nobody is living in? I'm not saying ignorance is bliss, but there is a way to become informed without it changing who we are at our core. It can just take a little effort to get to that point.

Just a thought about this Jim - I think it might be something along the lines of controlling the narrative insofar as people are and will wake up - it's inevitable - so for them it's a way to get out in front of it.

I agree we need to at least try our best to bring our fellow humans along with us as we grow further away from the mental fog of deceit that has been laid upon us - even if it is difficult. Anything less and we are not any better than those who trick us.
My research tells me, and I believe it may be true, that the oppressors have gone too far. And that excess has broken the rules holding back outside help - so that now they are becoming very actively involved in attempting to waken us. Possibly not 100% accurate but it rings true.

I watch They Live again every four months or so. Drives my wife nuts, but it helps to center me. The movie is not that accurate (they look like us according to all ancient records and not some type of skulls inside skins) but it deserves to be considered as a support in this period of our history.
We're heading for an event. I'm 99% sure of that, and roughly around 2030. Exact details are less than crystal, they but involve a false-flag event as part of it, for sure.

Suppose by some universal convention outsiders were not allowed to simply eradicate us or move us off planet in mass. Then suppose that they create an event where half the population dies from religious wars, and the remainder board ships to "heaven" or to a "new world" created just for us? Supposedly. And once we leave they are free to move in? Something to think about. And the Quislings on earth would assist in this, without requiring much more than the 30 pieces of silver common to traitors. It just smells of something like this to me, if not this exactly. Conversely, a nuclear war with a few sitting it out deep underground and emerging when the rest are dead is another scenario or outcome.

As to identifying these vermin: Most look for the eyes or expressions that ring false. What I believe they should look for instead is odd sexual behaviors. Pedos, hyper-sexed, weird sexual preferences, sacrifices, odd rituals in the dark of caves, etc. What's even worse is that apparently many of our population seem to not be disturbed by this sort of thing - who would have ever believed that a President that openly receives BJ's could be re-elected so easily? Or a President elected who owned Casinos, had mob ties, and generally denigrated women? Or a mentally infirm one, or universal shots with god knows what inside for everyone?

We're becoming more aware of that type of activity recently - but it has been ongoing since the beginning. Sociopaths also fit in that area - those that could, deep down, not give two sh*ts about the rest of us. And a great many wealthy fall into that category.

Fun days ahead for the fearless. Time to put on our big-boy pants and smite these vermin.
Just a thought about this Jim - I think it might be something along the lines of controlling the narrative insofar as people are and will wake up - it's inevitable - so for them it's a way to get out in front of it.
I believe you are correct = if they control the narrative they control the result. Even those trying to help us awaken might be cautious to do so softly, carefully, slowly, or else risk a mental stance that arises when our flee-flight mechanism kicks in - we might even shut down more than now if they don't do it delicately.

Stopping now to get back to work - take care.

I’m going to try not to get too off-topic or ‘out there’ but what if these controllers are doing what they’re doing FOR OUR BENEFIT?

From the point of view of the official narrative, of the ‘seeing is believing’ or of the view that there is no spiritual world, wysiwyg, the movie They Live appears to be as close to the truth as one can get. The world IS being run and/or set up by some type of non-human influence that would APPEAR to be aliens. We are the oppressed and there really is no choice but to rebel or just go with it, or perhaps even join their cause for some kickbacks. However I think this movie is as revealing as it is deceiving. I believe the actual truth is much more complicated and yet simpler at the same time.

I think trying to predict the future is a dangerous thing. It leads us to a trap to end up looking foolish and sway us from doing something truly important. It’s not our jobs to wake anyone up. I think this is extremely important. We may be in a situation to help explain some things to those that have begun to question FOR THEMSELVES, but trying to wake people up will generally not work out well and at the same time we would be going against their FREE WILL to believe what they want to believe.

I believe the best course of action is to make peace with the idea that they’re here and more importantly we have to stop pretending to know what they’re here for. We don’t know. I mean this in its true meaning in that we don’t have the capacity TO KNOW. Knowing is not of this density. What if these oppressors are here because they are supposed to be here. They are supposed to keep the world in the situation that it is. What if this is all to give us a specific learning experience ABOUT GOOD AND EVIL?

Your past seems very intriguing. And with my own research and understanding that the here is a whole world operating from the shadows that operates BEYOND good and evil. With that understanding I believe that a logical conclusion is that you and probably many others on this site have a part to play that has yet to reveal itself. The best thing I believe we can do is regularly step back, re-evaluate, and come to our own conclusion about what is going on as we learn more and more and expand our consciousness and all the while try to be the best person we can be. As I said what is truly important is those around us. Our friends and family. Our relationships. Everything else is secondary.
There is always more to the story. There is always more going on than meets the ‘eye’. We all have to find comfort in that, or else it will prohibit us from reaching a better potential

Family first, for sure. I hope we were not placed on this planet to act as caretakers for the animals.

I agree - I've seen all three of them, multiple times. Great movies. I watch one of these plus They Live and old reruns of V from time to time, just to keep them fresh in mind.
Rowdy Roddy Piper was one of my favourites. An interview available still on youtube shows he really knew what is going on in our current world

... who would have ever believed that a President that openly receives BJ's could be re-elected so easily? Or a President elected who owned Casinos, had mob ties, and generally denigrated women? Or a mentally infirm one, or universal shots with god knows what inside for everyone?
I'll tell you *exactly* who would believe all of that: The very same people that 'believe' their vote actually matters in the first place.
