A functional "technology" (of unknown basis of knowledge or purpose) might explain the apparent relationships and exactitude in the placements / dimensions of sites / components.

The only cave complex I know of that comes even remotely close in appearance is Meymand:

What kind of research? You should put it here, it's probably better than mine. Am struggling with clarity of posting? Some topics are just so big it is easy to get lost.

At any rate, I think that whole area has way more going on than we know or are able to know due to the constant political upheaval. I found a LOT of pictures of soldiers hanging out on it and I found one photo of people climbing it (?!).

It looked like isis went through the area and destroyed a lot of the area but I was unable to ascertain if this was one of the destroyed sites. The whole area is very confusing to me; am having a hard time wrapping my head around all of it. It's like there's a history superimposed on a history.

Its not worth posting but its looking at the old medieval maps. Ebstorfer seems to say babel is east iraq, whereas hereford map suggests west iran.
