Great song. Off an album with a speckled origin. The Beatles album that George Martin refused to produce. Sat on the shelf until Phil Specter salivated all over it. The 'Let It Be' movie came out and made it look like the recording process broke up The Beatles, like none of them got along, and that Yoko was a total prima donna bitch that helped them break up.

But it turns out that the narrative from the movie is incorrect...The filmmaker had three weeks worth of footage to cut down into a two hour movie. He chose to tell a story of pain.

But in 2021 they put out 'Get Back'! It's a three part, eight hour documentary mini-series that tells the real story with that month's worth of footage! From Twickenham to Apple headquarters to the top of the building. There's creative differences and George has a bit of a temper tantrum, but mostly everyone gets along. Linda is there most days and her and Yoko are friendly. Her daughter Heather comes for a few days and that footage is joyous and wonderful.

The documentary is strictly chronological, going day by day. The band is working towards a live performance and they are trying to write or complete at least 14 new songs for it. The performance might be televised and a movie is planned, with maybe an album. They are pretty wishy washy about the intended final products. It was so cool to see their creative processes! There's this couple of minutes where Paul is coming up with the song Get Back where he's in another world with his guitar, building and brewing it up. Other songs are from previous ideas each of them had or early songs they had never recorded. George was trying to write a brand new song each night which he presented each morning. Poor George is only partially successful as usual, but he did get the B side from the single! (Don't get me wrong, I truly love George and his music, I'm not being snarky.) Ringo has a couple ideas they help him flesh out.

Overall, worth the time if you care about the boys from Liverpool.

Unfortunately it's only available on Disney Plus, but that's what free trials are for.
