The globe idea goes back to Plato saying the earth is like a ball of leather made with 12 pieces of leather, and other early Greek philosophers who departed from the Babylonians by adding philosophy to astonomy. Philosophy is imagination. So, the globe lie goes back to the 200-300s' BC. However, this globe earth idea has always been of a stationary non-rotating earth at the center of rotating heavenly spheres. Ptolomy put the earth in the center of many rotating heavenly spheres, but the core--earth, does not rotate. It was not until Copernicus that it was suggested that the globe earth is not stationary but rotates.

Prior to Plato suggesting the earth was a sphere, nearly every ancient culture believed the earth was flat.

No original works of Plato survive to this day. Plenty of crap attributed to the ancient Geeks none of whose work survives. Stolen history in action.

60 years ago we were taught at school that upto the late medieval times the world was believed to be flat. Quite like the idea of Plato inventing those heavy leather footballs though , You might know them as soccer balls . Didn't Plato score a goal in the football world cup , maybe that was Socrates.

It's insane that there exists so-called Christians who deny the shape of their own God's Earth. We know the devil likes to invert everything the creator has made; so if God says the Earth is flat and stationary then Satan is going to say that it's round and moving.

When the previous population has been practically wiped out it's quite easy to indoctrinate the children especially when they are orphans from a distant land. They wouldn't know any better.
