I thought this was an interesting curiosity from 1862, Thompson’s Revolver Camera. Someone recently posted about it on Reddit, and I thought you all would find it interesting. More detail about it here on Youtube.
(I didn't find a post via search on this forum about this Revolver Camera, so I hope mine isn't a duplicate.)
It's a revolver camera and instead of shooting bullets it shoots photographs. It's a strange item. This to me combines two elements: craftmanship and a great deal of ingenuity. But also a total lack of common sense. It's ingenious but totally impractical and such a stupid idea. If you come across somebody who's waving this in your direction, the last thing you'd want to do is stand there and smile.
