not much here....Marcus wrote a book using the doctrine from Malthus, so Charles Brooker writes an expose about Marcus. Allegedly some eugenics laws were starting to get passed or seriously looked at because of the Marcus publication. Malthus, who would go on to provide us our "Malthusian" was a pseudo scientist who just came up with theories instead of studying Nature.

from:

Why Malthus Is Still Wrong

If by fiat I had to identify the most consequential ideas in the history of science, good and bad, in the top 10 would be the 1798 treatise An Essay on the Principle of Population, by English political economist Thomas Robert Malthus. On the positive side of the ledger, it inspired Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace to work out the mechanics of natural selection based on Malthus's observation that populations tend to increase geometrically (2, 4, 8, 16 …), whereas food reserves grow arithmetically (2, 3, 4, 5 …), leading to competition for scarce resources and differential reproductive success, the driver of evolution.
On the negative side of the ledger are the policies derived from the belief in the inevitability of a Malthusian collapse. “The power of population is so superior to the power of the earth to produce subsistence for man, that premature death must in some shape or other visit the human race,” Malthus gloomily predicted. His scenario influenced policy makers to embrace social Darwinism and eugenics, resulting in draconian measures to restrict particular populations' family size, including forced sterilizations.

Inflows are probably going to drop precipitously and many will probably go back thanks to many factors, one of which is U.S. hostage-taking. Kidnapping as a tool of imperial statecraft? | The Vineyard of the Saker

Mass of the universe (supposedly): 4.5 x 10^51 kg
I'll guesstimate weight of average person or ET at 60 kg
Start with two people: Adam and Eve
Increase 2% compounded annually for 5765 years
=(2*((1.02)^5765))*60
Total mass of humans: about 4.56 X 10^51 kg, oops, Houston we have a problem

Other than the above equation, and the fact that in the U.S. we clearly have a "federal" government, half the state governments, NGOs, and a large swath of the population that is against even contraception let alone supposedly sees abortion as murder (okay, the last item on the list by and large does see it as murder), I do not know what to believe. There definitely are major forces at work that does not see overpopulation as a problem, especially in the world's bully that does not actually produce much of anything and actually really is a gas station masquerading as a county, and no it is not a country near the Arctic Circle either, but rather will reduce "oil" production dramatically since its tight oil boom is one of the greatest shams in history AFAWK. Indeed they sow chaos and want as many unwanted pregnancies as possible. On the other hand, they kill millions the world over with depleted uranium, white phosphorus (or whatever new and improved version they use now), drones, sanctions, etc.

Indeed, I hear abortion is illegal in most of Latin America and contraceptives are often hard to obtain.

When I was 11-12 years old in 1979 and in sixth grade, had I wrote a story about the early 21st Century, I could not have made this non-fiction? of 1990-2019 that is stranger than fiction (and does not even make any sense or have any consistency) up.

It is difficult enough to tell what is going on in A.D. 2019, let alone 2019 B.C. My standard answer to anything on the Tell-A-Lie-To-Your-Vision Idiot Box is, when did they stop lying? Here is another question we keep asking on this forum: When did they start?

Almost certainly. That's not even in the realm of conspiracy theory. We have direct evidence that countries overstate population to receive more external funding, and this is particularly pronounced in Africa which receives significant aid and foreign direct investment. This behaviour occurs at all levels of government.

I believe it's a bit of both. They are encouraged to overstate numbers, and the UN plays along because it serves so many of their policy agendas.

As to Latin America - not only are abortions illegal, and contraceptives very difficult to obtain in some cases, the Pope was recently here on a tour - and he congratulated his faithful in Latin America for sticking to the commandments of the Church! If you can believe that.

I have heard several times that abortion is not mentioned in the bible and homosexuality just barely. Moving the Sabbath to Sunday , in my opinion, is one of their far less problematic actions. As long as one sticks to the same 24 hour period every 168 hour period, I do not see the problem there. Indeed, alternative chronologies bring into question whether the Torah or the New Testament came first so guess is that perhaps Paganism and worshiping on Sunday somehow morphed into Christianity and it was in fact the Jews (whoever they are) moved the Sabbath.

Many claim Jews (or at least some) are not really Semites, therefore they cannot really be Jews, at least in the ethnic sense. I am under the understanding that most people dealing with such issues have their own agendas and axes to grind, for better or worse. Well, if biblical stories are of much more recent origin and happened in places were the alleged events could have taken place, such as Italy which has volcanoes for example, maybe it is Middle Eastern / Northern Africa Jews that did the converting. All of history could be upside-down and inside-out. It may be best to look at the ethnicities of Jews around the world and see if turning the migration and conversion logic upside-down and inside-out results in something that makes more sense.

These are easily separate threads in and of themselves.

Several years ago I decided to drop the Arab-inspired and Sumerian plagerized Old Testament, and I now use the Thomas Jefferson Bible, consisting of the New Testament only. I can't help but remember the statement of "when two or more are gathered in my name" in contrast to the chapels of gold that some now worship in. I do my reading and contemplating at home, with my family. So far so good.

This Malthus was an idiot. He imagined that agricultural production would not improve to feed the growing population and wrongly "predicted" that there would be no food for everyone. Which is complete nonsense since if there was no food for everyone there could be no population explosion. He only made a simplistic calculation that production grew arithmetically while the population, according to him, grew exponentially. Well, reality punched him in the face.

He was just another elitist, afraid that the poor might threaten the privileges of the parasites in power.

What we have now is not "no food for everyone". What we have is an unbalanced distribution
of food sources. We do have areas that are starving, and others that receive less than a sufficient
amount of caloric intake per day. Some have no water or not clean water.

So yes, the population expansion is partly the cause for this, along with wars and greed. And I am sorry to disagree with you, but "no food for everyone there could be no population explosion" is certainly not true.

We have no brakes on our human minds when it comes to population. We honestly believe that having more kids means that at least a few will survive. This mentality, coupled with the idiotic religious sanctions against birth control, will lead to our end. It's only a matter of time.

You actually believe that after showing us the problem for many decades, and then being unable to solve it, and then saying it does not in "reality" exist, is the truth? Or is this what the ones that can't or do not wish to solve the problem, wish you to believe?

Overpopulation, especially in poor areas, is just what the powers that be want to see. They need us to die from spreading diseases caused by this problem, so that they can later emerge from their shelters, without having to lift a finger.

Please, look around, talk to real people, and don't spread the problem by repeating what you hear on the TV or Radio. My agenda is to have as many friends and neighbors as the land will support; not one more, not one less, and although that is a near impossible goal to achieve, it's what we should be attempting right now.

As an alternate theory, Russell and Malthus were promoting the idea of "overpopulation", meanwhile distracting from the resource mismanagement and encouragement of destructive behaviors which create artificial scarcity. Their works are brilliant pieces of manipulation and doublespeak. Strawman arguments at the time became predictive programming for the destruction of Christian society, which being agents for the banking families, suited the likes of Russell and Malthus.
People enjoy simple answers. Lies and manipulation hide themselves in a convoluted nest of illogical axioms, theories and hidden meaning which only those in the know may unravel.

the link here is certainly not a "reason" for everything, BUT it is important to understand not all people groups believe in cooperation, some are highly predatory and if I may say, act in a tribal manner which comes off as anti-human. This is an important and often ignored facet of human history. If you want to know who controls the levers of power, find out who and what you are not allowed to speak freely about.
