130 years ago the Michelson and Morley experiment implied that the earth does not move, because in that time it was generally accepted that the aether exist. From that the PTB managed to twist the results, saying the experiment proves that if the earth is in motion, then the aether does not exist.
Einstein was called to the stage and managed to create an insane and absurd theoretical model that explained everything away that Michelson and Morley implied: Light-speed was now a constant, and the aether did not exist anymore. With light-speed as a constant, the michelson and morley experiment suddenly did not mean that the earth is stationary, but that the aether did not exist.
Without Einstein, there would have been no practical way of explaining the stationary earth away. He basically saved mainstream physics.
The Michelson Morley experiment could have been interpreted to mean the Earth was stationary - however there's another explanation, which is that no movement is possible relative to the Ether. So it's the Ether which always appears constant regardless of the motion of the observer, rather than light.
My (limited) understanding of Tesla's view of light is like vibration in a guitar string. There's a transverse wave which has a low frequency and speed, and a longitudinal wave which travels much faster with much higher frequency. Tesla appeared to believe that the much faster longitudinal light waves, propagating through the Ether in a similar manner to the way sound propagates through air, were the important form of light; and the much slower transverse waves (which are the only ones Science recognises now) were a largely irrelevant side effect. See also this post about Maxwell's missing equations and their relationship to Tesla's technology.
A beautiful explanation of this is that the transverse waves are the precession effect upon the electrons of the much faster longitudinal waves. It's as if you have a lot of gyroscopes spinning and a gust of air blows over them. Modern science sees the gyroscopes wobbling but ignores the gust of air.
Quantum mechanics takes the fixed atoms and replaces them with a probability of them being in a given place at a given time. This is a BS way of explaining something which was already explained by the steady state theory, in which atoms were spontaneously created out of the Ether, and reabsorbed by it, with some force acting to keep things in balance all the time. Tesla said atoms are created when Etheric energy spins into infinitesimally small vortices.
Modern Science acknowledges that sub-atomic particles have a spin, but for no reason. Whereas the erased Etheric theory said that spin was the force that created the particles in the first place.
