They had the streets tore up like that in Vancouver before the Olympics back in?... 2010? Blew my mind how deep they went, but I (and none of us) were hip to this (new?) information.

Enoch, how interesting.
The tunnels may have already been there, and been expanded upon. Otherwise, "they" have a secret technology for moving buildings up or down, float them across water...
Would have to get under there and look.
Stenoch? Sounds positively DEVILISH. Or at least demonic. St Enoch?
?

Not derailing here, but did you see the size of the SF, CA, US train station in that old video before it burned down? It was raised above street level on arches big enough for traffic and trains to pass under. Must have been a popular thing. Whether subways or not.
I'm guessing there's iron or steel in those supports.

Under the building is a reinforced concrete, you can see the tension bars and the tightening bolts!

Raising building or even moving them was quite a thing and have seen many vids of the practise of lifting via jacks(has to be a level lift though), but i don't think that is the case here as the building looks to integrated with that bit of concrete, also no mention in the history of the movement of structures.

Also this building has no foundations, it just seems to have been plonked on top of the concrete!

Those pilings off to the sides are IMMENSE. They seem kind of large for their job...
Photos before this point?
Except when they were formerly supporting those massive buildings which are no longer there.

Yes they are rather large and very close together but i am guessing they are taking most of the load from the concrete platform!

No more pics of construction but the building is still there, costa coffee shop, oh dear!

More pictures here, found by startpage images search string glasgow underground construction (weird how wikiwaki states is Glasgow subway)
Glasgow Underground Construction

For what it's worth my guess is that building isn't as old as it looks and it is actually steel framed bolted stright onto the reinforced concrete structure underneath it.

I know its only waki but it says its a red sandstone building and was jacked up at some point!

St Enoch subway station - Wikipedia
I have seen jacking of wooden structures but never stone, wood has a bit of give but stone has mortar in-between and if it's not level then it cracks!

Says it was jacked up during the reconstruction which probaby means the installation of the concrete pillars and beams, or maybe not. Seems there were various tunnelling methods used but maily cut a trench, lay the track roof he tunnel in and backfill to the surface level.

Seems it was jacked up in 1977/8.
