Maps or books, back then were primarily created in the sacred/secret language Latin for the use by the King/Queen, the rulers, not for use by the common people.
Now we can find lots of old maps online, but there are also lots of forgeries, created upon order by “THEY” in the 1700 & 1800s, even later, with dates of creation starting from the 1500s with the discovery of the so-called “new world”… to mislead us.
Some maps do not have a date of creation, some have latinized dates, some have arabic numerals … and now I found this map (or 2 maps) from the Occident and Orient, established by french cartographer Guillaume Delisle (1675-1726), who was known for exactitude and intellectual honesty with the following inscripton: (one with Occidentalis, one with Orientalis)
Theatrum Historicum = Historic Theatre [literally THEATRE]
Ad annum Christi quadringentesimu = until the year Christi 400
In quo = in which
tum IMPERII Romani tu Barbarorum = your Roman Empires your Barbarian (North Africa)
circumincolentium status ob oculos ponitur = the state of the surrounding inhabitants is put before your eyes
The western part
Obviously the map depicts what was known in the year 400 after Christ to be the Roman Empires and the Barbarian (and) their surrounding inhabitants, which must thus also be the time, when Guillaume Delisle lived !!!
Another interesting detail is, that Ireland is labeled HIBERNIA SCOTIA. Scotland or Setland. Green man.
And on the small world map on the Pars Orientalis side, Thule is located where we find the Faraoe Islands (Pharao Islands).
Iceland is shown above Thule.
But I’ve seen a latinized ANNO 400 inscription before, on an obelisk/monument from the Chicago World Fair 1893. Unfortunately most, if not all of those buildings no longer exist. Erasing memories. Erasing their forged pieces of Theatrum Historicum.

Christophorus was just an invented character, his discovered “New World” used to be well-known before “THEY” changed our past:
The Americas = Atlantis, it never sunk, it was just "rebranded", like Raider -> Twix
Hyperborei is the aera around the North Pole, as shown on this map Source of map with no date written on it, but noticed online from 1598, by 2 authors:
Ortelius Abraham (1527 -1598) geographer from Antwerpen /Belgica, but whose family came originally from Augsburg / Germania
and by Jan Baptista Vrients (1552-1612)
