Yup, I'm suggesting stone or marble, not plaster, and an older building, indeed perhaps hundreds of years.The mold pattern is very similar to what you'd see on an old building in rome, etc. plus those edges are still looking pretty crisp. Mold pattern reminds me of the mold on the Panathenaic stadium in athens which was reportedly built in 330 bc, with white marble.

Compare edges in the photos from Panathenaic Stadium with photos from the Pan Am.

Wiki says it "was built on the site of a simple racecourse by the Athenian statesman Lykourgos (Lycurgus) c. 330 BC, primarily for the Panathenaic Games. It was rebuilt in marble by Herodes Atticus, an Athenian Roman senator, by 144 AD and had a capacity of 50,000 seats. After the rise of Christianity in the 4th century it was largely abandoned. The stadium was excavated in 1869 and hosted the Zappas Olympics in 1870 and 1875. After being refurbished, it hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the first modern Olympics in 1896 and was the venue for 4 of the 9 contested sports."
I believe this relates to @KorbenDallas post about various olympic games occurring at various expositions. If it looks like a duck...?

In terms of the purpose for the expositions, i looked up the etymology.

exposition (n.) late 14c., "explanation, narration," from Old French esposicion "explanation, interpretation" (12c.), from Latin expositionem(nominative expositio) "a setting or showing forth; narration, explanation," noun of action from past participle stem of exponere "put forth; explain; expose" (see expound).

Could it really be as simple as putting forth an 'explanation' for all this gorgeous architecture? I would not be surprised! ?

Everyone's perspectives on this most mysterious of "Expo" issues are vitally important.
Hell's bells, I'm sure confused now if I wasn't before!
And yet, I have to wonder, are we missing the bigger picture? Am I blind as well?
Don't answer that.

At expos, what if...there was lots of wood framing and plaster buildings to maybe hide the one or two old-school marble 'n granite ones? (Shhhhh! Keep your voices down). A tiny occult gazebo or astrological fountain out of place, perchance? An inconvenient obelisk from Egypt in the J.P. Morgan formal gardens weighing 1500 tons with no explanation worth a wooden plug nickel on how it got there? Surround them all with an expo, by gum, and you have a winner.

Top-hatted and diamond stick pinned TPTB fresh off their private Pullman train cars were said to have said: "Huzzah! A capitol plan my dear fellows! No one will know the difference, by Gemini." You can all pose here with a Masonic gesture if you will.

I submit to you this day for your consideration the Please Touch Museum of Philadelphia. Once called Memorial Hall at the 1876 Centennial Expo, an expendable––cough–– "expo" building. But it was always hewn from granite and marble from the git-go. Solid. Built to last. Indestructable. Were they trying to hide it amidst a sea of shoddy plaster neoclassical "booze-arts" buildings and whitewashed Arabesque caramel popcorn ziggurats? Hmmm...I smell a rat-faced flying squirrel here.

Given that we've been 100% definitely, no-way-in-hell-they-didn't, lied to about "mysterious" megalithic constructions, star civilizations, aqueducts with no cement between the blocks like Segovia's, and the impossibly grand buildings of Europe and elsewhere by the rogue ruffian PTB, it's easy to feel we are being scammed on the glamorous expos and all their fanciful architecture designed to WOW our forefathers and foremothers. And they sure did.
Perhaps we have been scammed at that.

Possibly...constructed using advanced technologies including free energy and, yes, antigravity via sound vibration tech (See: John Worrell Keely), these fast-built Expos are revealing themselves to have been not only a clever frivolity and marketing ploy––although a pretty darn cool one at that––but also a possible "normalization" of our then existing, fabuloso old infrastructure and new tech worldwide that many 1850-1914 "awakening folks" were most likely starting to question before the fun of WW1. In simpler terms, were they shaping up our world view by inviting us to it?
I'll bet Theosophist Rudolph Steiner was posing the questions while he rode the expo Ferris Wheel, the cheeky devil. Sexy Madame Blavatsky too. Trust me, the MIB Pinkertons were after their hides back in the day, no doubt about it.

Our lovable old expos, so what do they have in common?
Always the columned classical Roman and Greek styles, (Atlantean?) always the massive domed and port-holed Beaux-Arts, always the Victorian glass and iron pavilions, the ornate Gothic this-and-that, the Revivalist sound frequency pipe organs in private homes like Captain Nemo's Nautilus (That's another topic), always the weird and creepy naked gods and goddesses and gilt framing. Always the giant Olympian statues to dwarf us with.
It's the common STYLE of everything at the expos that's got me wondering. A grand-scale message? Visual programming on a gargantuan scale?

Was a large brass loudspeaker shouting: "AHOY PLEBIANS OF 1899, WELCOME TO THE NEW NORMAL, THE MILWAUKEE EXPOSITION OF SOD FARMERS, ZEPPELINS, AND STEVEDORES. MOVE ALONG TO THE STEAM PADDLE BOAT RIDE TO THE MOON. EAT A CORN DOG AT THE GIANT SHAGGY DOG PAVILION. SHOOT A MAXIM GUN TO YOUR HEART'S DELIGHT. HOP ON THE NEWFANGLED ELECTRIC TRICYCLE, THE TRUE MARVEL OF OUR WONDROUS GILDED AGE OF LIGHT BULB GLORY!"

The 19th century Freemasons and secret societies of the time knew the significance of all that gilded glory: The infrastructure of the once advanced worldwide civilizations and the whiz-bang technology that made them all possible and more. And they had to hide it in plain sight. Fast.

Were TPTB making grand statements of "new" technology mixed with the old world charm and "circus minimum" attractions?
Bread, wine, and ice cream circuses held in the newly-whipped-up plaster womb of the old world?
Was that the genuine message?: "This is the fairly tale world you live in, Mr. and Mrs. Sheeple, we control your reality, we control your history, we control your spirituality, we control your food supply, we control the new technology, we control you, your money, so run along, get drunk, and get used to it."

What has changed today, I ask of everyone here?

I think of it in biblical terms as much as possible. All is leading to revelation- all is being revealed. They are doing it themselves. I’m not sure if the next catastrophe will be a reset or the end of it all, but it seems we’re close.
I think the internet was their mistake ultimately.

One story lurking about has Thomas Jefferson––a mystic and a Freemason––tasking Lewis and Clark to not only map the new USA, but to document all the existing "wonders" that were sticking out of the dirt. I think we can speculate soundly on what they must have found. Ruins. Maybe thats why Lewis was murdered? To keep him quiet?

I'll just pull the rug out from under the whole "wood and plaster" cover-up. And every time they use the word "staff", it's like the media plugging these days. Sounds like they just made it up and passed it around for all the narrative to fall back on.
There's NO WAY that sort of material would support the weight of those immense roofs. TOO BIG. We would have heard SOME stories of collapse instead of just FIRE.
Hell, the whole Comstock fiasco might have ACTUALLY had the elimination of evidence as its main agenda...
Cataclysm... Catastrophe... CAYALYST.

Oh, AND every time I see all the black head-to-toe fashion and attendance, all I can think is VULTURES. CARRION CROWS. Come to feast on the leavings and spoils. They always look so out of place and like they don't know what they should be doing.
Climbing all over buildings and carousing, first chance they get...

if the temporary ones were genuinely only steel-framed buildings it would definitely be able to support a large roof like that.
look at the crystal palaces... all that glass would have weighed much more than any wood framed, lathe & plaster facade over simple steel beams. (and most of that weight would be supported by its own wooden framing, not just the steel skeleton) and i don't expect they would have used heavy roofing material on "fake" architecture!

there are a lot of large steel framed buildings from the 1800s/ early 1900s still standing today.

Guessing maybe tech breakdown or meltdown or malfunction. Perhaps atmospheric.
Also thinking these things are where reverse engineering and dumbing down on the tech level really got going. No more free or "clean" (not so much, really with EM disturbance and interference). And the "Industrial revolution" to make sure everyone stays BUSY. What a joke.
Total Hollywood and Disney.
Ooo! Aaah!
Keep them as cave people, but also focused on MATERIALISM. So mighty. So righty.

The two things that bother me the most about these fairs and all the monumental building that went on in this period:
1. They go through all the expense and trouble to have these fairs and yet they don't reuse the buildings. For instance, maybe they could have been used as state government headquarters, a university... something. We do this today with the Olympics. Olympic venues are built and then reused over and over again to help recoup the building costs.
2. The Economy and population distribution. I started to put together the attached worksheet to understand what was going on when the Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress was built. I was trying to figure out if it was a mudflooder or a building they gained in the conquest of the South and reconstructed in the Capitol. This is for the series on the Library of Congress I am still working on.... Part I Part II

This was compiled from TPTB Wikis. Look at the economic history. The Long Depression during the height of these fairs was worse and longer than the great depression. Again, this is a work in progress sheet for another project but I added a column with the fairs to show how they fit in. Notice the large percent of people living on farms in the total population numbers. If half the population or more is farming, who is building these?

Not the civilian populace. That's for certain.
We all banded together and chipped in, emptied our piggy banks and mortgaged our houses for the wonderful temporary fair! Wheee!
MY theory... If they weren't submerged either in water or mud and then revealed. Or hidden in overgrown forest or scrubland and cleared away. They had to use the rails to do it. Both materials and manpower. Probably slave labor, hence the lack of building and construction footage and publicity coverage.
The wealthy land and oil baron families that took over all the business must have a history...

Whatever might have been there previously or not, they wouldn't have been that pristine. LOTS of work still had to go into cleanup, construct, white washing and plastering and all of the fair stuff.
Still like fairs and circuses of today. Ridin the roads and rails. Bring their own manpower.
Not sure if the art and architecture angle would provide insight in the same way. Who was providing or commissioning. The MONEY.

Other hint I got was forensic or tracker like.
When looking at panoramic overhead of Rio earlier and noticing the wear and tear from traffic and where it mostly tended. That's as far as I got with it so far...

I watched those in that order, and a few things became apparent. Sorry the second one is long, but it's FULL of items for comparison and review.
Things to note:
Is the first video as old as stated? Look at the styles of dress BEFORE the WFs, etc.
Then notice the styles of dress of everyone at the fairs, etc.
I think I found our laborers in there. Possibly being the "attendees" as well. Definitely immigrants ftmp, not locals.
ALSO, the civil, social and political unrest and inequality RAMPANT to this day...

Reading through some tedious reports and handbooks from SL 1904...
Looks like it was mainly commerce, capitalism and let's continue business as usual full speed ahead who cares about the little people.
PAINFUL accounts of costs and expenditures. Attempt to summarize goods and resources of all countries and states, as well as their own systems.
Pretty much "rape and pillage our way across the world for a comfortable high class European lifestyle" that no one can have under those circumstances of causing extra suffering for others because of one's own lack of service of any kind. BULLSHIT.
So, listened to podcast of Michael C Hawkins I posted in LOOSE THREAD. Sounds like the Moros actual CIVILITY was going to disrupt the misconceptions of EMPIRE.

This relates to former thread about servitude.
The Moros had slaves and servants, but respected and treated well. Just different stations.
Are greedy for drama circus freaks couldn't wait to see sanctioned slavery (how COULD we get away with it?...) and the actuality upset their notions.
Also any preconceptions about racial superiority or misapplied Darwinism to humans (it was pretty BUNK anyway), because the Moro could do anything we taught them.
His research is being suppressed because of the "Trumped up" class system and its corrupt state. Would expose the agenda being PUSHED that is in no way true. And would shine a PITILESS light on the need for fair equality.

Paris seems to be the JUICE. These are the more "futuristic" oriented. Not that the early ones weren't as well... Just a big shift, thanks to science fiction, my favorite genre.

Lots of drawings actually. Or paintings, if you prefer. And close examination of many photos usually shows touch-up or drawn in details.?
The larger fairground buildings anyway. Close-ups usually spot on.
Others lacking info besides Milwaukee is Minneapolis, Denver and Chicago BEFORE 1893. Probably more, still looking.
1874 Chicago Interstate Exposition. 1886 Minneapolis Industrial Exposition. 1882? Denver National Mining and Industrial Exposition.
I give up.
1883 Cincinnati's ELEVENTH annual Industrial Exposition.
Where to stop?...
Looks like industrial and local expos from 1872-1887, with Minneapolis beimg the last.
Chicago 1893. Good times. Despite repeating several several photos, this goes to show how inattention to detail or just plain poor editing can mess up the story...
