saunas just aren't a possibility outside of steaming in the shower.
Here's how you can build a sauna for under $200. You need:
- One grow tent 120x120cm like this
- Four infrared spot lights like this . Brands Sylvania, General Electric, Philips, SLi, Satco, Havel, and Feat.
- A small stool to sit on.
Assemble the grow tent as usual. Place the four lights in a diamond shape on a platform (mine is wooden) of about 50x50cm. Wire them safely and hang the from the ceiling in the grow tent. The tent usually come with straps and one metal tube which is removable and attached on the ceiling. You can use them to hang the lights on.
The diamond shape lights have to be positioned roughly at the same level as your upper torso, just under the chin. For safety you can install a guard to prevent from burning yourself but I have never had this issue. Try not to stare at the lights. Just use your common sense.
It's a dry type of sauna and because it's fitted with aluminium sheets from inside very easy to clean the floor and the walls.
That's all, very easy and cheap. It's light weight, safe and you can move it around. You can put it away easily if you don't need it.
You start sessions of 10-15 mins and gradually increase to 30 mins max. With time you will sweat more and more. It is the perfect therapy when you feel like you coming down with a cold ... otherwise known as c-19. LOL
Drink water before and after use and maybe some electrolytes as with sweating you lose some bad metals but some good ones too. Kelp provides good amount of electrolytes and sea salt.
The sauna is perfectly safe so long as you don't burn yourself because of negligence or falling asleep/fainting. If you're not confident in the beginning you can ask someone to supervise for you. Young children need to be supervised too. If you eat well (keto is best) and don't overdo it, it can not do any harm at all.
Do not use while pregnant. In Finland they do but the jury is still out on this one.
Strip naked, get in and enjoy the warmth! After the session is over have a lie down for 15 minutes to allow the body to re-balance.
Sweating from exercise is not the same as sweating in sauna as when you move around you employ the sympathetic nervous system whilst in sauna you switch in a parasympathetic mode. My opinion is that excessive exercise is counterproductive. In fact, when you detoxify you need to rest and sleep more than usual.
Always start with short sessions and give your body time. Once a week is a good measure. Do not expect any miracles.
