I didn’t know photography was “hip” in 1435. Interesting. Am I reading this too deep? Is that not intended as a date?

I also think it's some sort of catalog number.

And why do we have water next to the Pyramids. I thought the Nile river was like 4 miles away. Some flood?

The lower Aswan was completed in 1902. Plenty of construction photos, but none of the Cairo museum.

There was a war here. I think the Red Baron fought the Australians.

Ancient pyramids dominate the landscape along the Nile River near Giza, Egypt.

Life in ancient Egypt depended on the Nile River. The banks of the Nile were lush with vegetation. Silt deposited on farm fields by yearly floods provided crops with fertile soil. Although its waters were heavy with silt, the Nile was the largest source of drinking water in the desert region. Most of Egypt’s cities grew along the banks of the Nile.

This guy Walking from the Nile to the pyramids, and the people I met on the way - Fluent in 3 months - Language Hacking and Travel Tips says its a 9k walk from the nile to Giza.

I may have wondered if these images we forced perspective, but not over that distance.

So what are these pools of water?

Tbh, I feel some of the images however look more like an oasis than a flood...
