Before I begin let me show you a photograph of the Wayne Country Building in Detroit (officially dated 1902) that can be found on the Library of Congress:

Some of you may have seen this before but if not then let me explain. This is actually a good example of so-called vanilla skies but there is something in particular that I want to discuss further. Look at the puddle and you will see the reflection of a tower that is being hidden. I encourage you to go to the website and download the biggest tiff version so you can get a real close look at some of these details that nobody would have even noticed without a magnifying glass but now with computers we are able to digitally zoom in on these images that have been scanned.
Let us zoom in:
Now at first I was thinking what on Earth are they trying to hide here? If you look at the top of the photo you will see that it hasn't been covered completely and this tower is incredibly tall. I think it's also worth noting the "Secret Service" poster. It looks as if this was just after some kind of catacalysm.
If you take a closer look at the photo you will notice there are loads of wires in the sky, some of them seem higher than the building:
The tower itself is being held by wires which goes to show just how tall it is.
Keep a note of that tram wire pole in the middle.
In this next photograph you will see that the tram wire pole has been dug out and moved. Why? You will also notice that a lot of the wires in the sky have gone and so has the tower:
This photograph is dated 1900 according to the website. Two years before the first photograph apparently but I can prove this is incorrect.
Zoom and and you will see this:
Again this is something nobody would have ever seen on the photograph unless they had a magnifying glass but now we can see it. What is it?
I said I can prove the dates are incorrect so here it is:
This photograph is dated 1905 and you can see the pole is in the same place as in the previous photograph this time it's been paved over as if nothing happened. There are now flag poles on the building which were not there before. You can't tell me they put the tower there, moved the tram pole and then took it back down again and moved the tram pole back. So the dates are inconsistent and these could potentially be older than the website tells us.
Whatever the real date is the other tower has disappeared by the time this photograph was taken. That's not all, I have yet another interesting photograph:
This is also from 1902 according to the website. I don't even need to zoom in for you to see that there is one of these towers standing in view but I will anyway:
There is also another one to the left near a chimney:
It seems these towers were all over Detroit and I was wondering what on Earth they could be for.
Then I found out they were apparently "Moonlight Towers".
Now here are some depictions of other "Moonlight Towers":
Another one:
Even the Eiffel Tower:
Now I thought that was it until I thought about it some more and noticed that the "Moonlight Towers" in Detroit look very different from these other depictions. Some of these "Moonlight Towers" are still used in Austin, Texas:
They don't look bright enough to be of much use but we're told that they originally used carbon-arc lamps however I find that ludicrous considering the fact that they would need to be replaced almost every day. I don't believe somebody was climbing every tower every day to replace every lamp.
Also here is a photograph I just found of some "Moonlight Towers" in New Orleans from an unknown time:
Where are the lights? It looks like one of them is just being used to hold a cable up. Look at all those telegraph lines too (I think telegraph lines will need their own thread soon).
I cannot find any photographs of these moonlight towers being turned on in their day except for this blurry and dubious image:
Here is another photograph of a moonlight tower in Detroit:
Notice how the tower has a lamp on the bottom. Was the tower not bright enough then? Was it even working by the time this photograph was taken? I must say it is quite a contrast too with all these electric trams alongside horse and carts.
These towers could well have been used for lighting purposes however I don't believe they worked the way we are told. I sense atmospheric electricity.
