somewhere a tenured, 40-years-at-the-ol'-University historian will argue you that back in the day, the Chinese would elongate the bones of the highly revered royal families from birth. the Chinese were also cannibals and there are known writings that say they wore roman-style loin clothes under their robes. and the lil boys fiddled with big boys. in public baths. women sat home and begged for a war to take their husbands away...
KD, your pictures depict an article of clothing that wasn't invented until the 19th century-belt buckles. Not sure when the pictures are supposed to be from-just thought I'd throw in that bit of trivia.Note: This post was recovered from the Sh.org archive.Username: whitewaveDate: 2018-08-28 09:41:05Reaction Score: 3

I remember in school studied about Patagones tribe, now it seems to be converted in a "mitical tribe" and instead the Magallanes encounter was with the Tehuelches and Onas, but they were really tall, not mitical tallIn 1520, the explorer Ferdinand Magellan spent the winter in Patagonia. According to the story told by Magellan’s chronicler, Antonio Pigafetta, the natives they encountered were extremely tall - Pigafetta estimated they stood between 9 and 12 feet. A hundred years after Magellan, Sir Francis Drake’s chronicler confirmed Pigafetta’s account, but reduced the giants’ size down to a "mere" seven and a half feet. - Princeton University
Isn’t it funny how some 500 years later our contemporary pseudo scientists are trying to discredit the actual eyewitnesses of the events?Note: This post was recovered from the Sh.org archive.Username: KorbenDallasDate: 2018-08-28 15:27:54Reaction Score: 7
And the photographic evidence! Most stories I've read of giants describe 6 fingers and 6 toes. I tried counting digits on your posted pics but most of the giants had their hands covered. A few did not and they only had the usual 5 & 5. Not a debunking, just an observation.Note: This post was recovered from the Sh.org archive.Username: whitewaveDate: 2018-08-28 15:39:41Reaction Score: 6

All the tall ones seem to be deliberately obscuring a clear view of their hands and keeping them mostly covered.Note: This post was recovered from the Sh.org archive.Username: whitewaveDate: 2018-08-28 16:33:53Reaction Score: 6

Was reading about the Smithsonian ordered by SCOTUS to admit and reveal their hidden giant fossils/artifacts. Seems that is a well-debunked bit of fake news.Note: This post was recovered from the Sh.org archive.Username: whitewaveDate: 2018-09-25 04:55:32Reaction Score: 9

Holy Roman Emperor Maximillian was officially 8’5” tall. Some Ancient Roman ruler was 8’5” as well, don’t remember his name but there was quite a display of power involved.Note: This post was recovered from the Sh.org archive.Username: KorbenDallasDate: 2018-09-25 05:00:18Reaction Score: 3

If there's a bull attached to that bull head, it was a pretty big animal too.Note: This post was recovered from the Sh.org archive.Username: whitewaveDate: 2018-10-18 12:17:58Reaction Score: 2

A focal lenth of that size you should be able to see the big bang. Built for exhibition and of no use? LoolInteresting that there are like two pictures of this device only. @Hardy, lol, you should have started a separate thread for this thing.
And the same story continues.
The company which had organized in 1886 to build the telescope declared bankruptcy after the Expo, and the telescope was put up for auction in 1909. No buyer was found and eventually the components were scrapped.
Since it was built for exhibit purposes within a large metropolis, and its design made it difficult to aim at astronomical objects, it was not suited for scientific use. When the year-long exposition was over, its builders were unable to sell it. It was ultimately broken up for scrap;
